Mild Obsessions, Small Towns and Wedding Veils

When you live in a small town with not much to do besides going to the nearest Taco Wagon or Cow Tipping, you have to find something to keep yourself entertained.

It's no secret that I love Grey's Anatomy. I've told you before. But what you may not know is just how much I love that show. But I'm not the only one.

Amber loves the show too.

I think it was last Tuesday she asked if I wanted to go to Wal Mart in our wedding veils on Saturday. You know, 'cause that's what most people do on Saturday mornings.

Sure, I'm up for a good time. I decided to up the ante, just a lil.

How about I make us some stick figures of McDreamy and McSteamy and have the professionals at Wal Mart take our pictures. She agrees but is reluctant. I decided then and there, if she couldn't handle it, our friendship probably wouldn't last too much longer. Because really...those who know me best, know that a lil random picture taking is pretty mild.

So, she shows up in her veil. I have mine. And I have our stick people. She chooses McSteamy and I choose McDreamy. And we head off to Wal Mart.

Those poor photographers (who looked about 12 yrs old) didn't know what to do with us. They didn't know how to pose two girls together who weren't "together" and they just weren't sure what to think of our stick men.

After about 20 minutes we got them finished, went home and my lovely husband took more photos for us since we needed instant gratification and Wal Mart won't send our pics for 3 weeks.

Here's a sampling:

Of course I'll share our "professional" photos when we get them!

My Mailbox

My mailbox is at the end of our driveway. It's not a long driveway but long enough that I have to put on clothes if I want to check the mail without offending neighbors. (I miss the house on Elm St. where I could just reach my arm out to grab the mail)

Anyway...

So, not only do I have to be clothed to get the mail, I have to walk a lil ways up hill to go back to my house. It's quite the process to check the mail. So, it really chaps my hide when I get dressed and walk down the driveway only to find I have no mail.

None.

Sometimes I think I'd rather have bills waiting for me than nothing at all. It's lonely walking back up the driveway empty-handed.

I'm thankful for my friend Melissa, you know...the girl who stole my boyfriend back in High School, I'm thankful for her because she sends Snail Mail.

I'm also thankful for my SIL, Treena. She also sends mail. I love getting mail from her, it's so fun, she never has anything to say in the cards she makes for me because we talk or email 37 times a day. So, the note in her card usually says something like, "love, me."

The reason I bring up no mail is because it happened again. It was a lonely trip home from the mailbox.

If I had known it was going to be empty, I wouldn't have had to get dressed today.

The Sun Shades are Attacking!

On Saturday I had to borrow my SIL's mini-van. There was a sun shade in the winshield area. I tried to wrap it up and it sprung to life and tried to attack me.

Really.

It did.

So, I try again. Because in my head I was reminded of the saying, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

It attacked me. Again. I throw my arms up and try to run for cover but I'm already seat belted into the van. Thankfully no one saw. They would have thought I was some crazy person. Would hate for strangers to find something out like that about me so soon. And I'd also hate to confirm the suspicions of friends and family.

So, after the blasted thing calmed down, I chucked it in the backseat.

That's right, I'm back!

After a few months of reevaluating priorities and such, I think I'm at a place where I can safely have the internet in my home without spending too much time on it.

So...today, I called my ISP and set up an account. Again. There's a catch. I'm only using dial up.

EW! GROSS! I know!!!! But, for now, I think this is a good start.

I'm very excited to start blogging again, even more excited to start reading blogs again.

Have a wonderful day!!!
