Spoke with Emily on the phone this morning. She encouraged me to list off the things that Sugar can do now (in January) that she couldn't do in September (when we first started homeschooling.)
Though I don't feel I listed much, what is there is good stuff.
She can count to 100.
She's learning to add.
She can sound out three and some four-letter words. (when she wants to)
She can count by 10's and is learning to count by 5's.
She knows all the sounds of each letter of the alphabet.
She's learning to tell time.
Before we officially started school she knew all her colors and shapes and could recognize all the letters of the alphabet.
I'm going to stop flipping out about this. She's learning. She's progressing. She's just fine.
We're going to be okay.
You know, at least for right now. :)

DUDE. Your kid can do all that? WHAT?! I will NOT start comparing/obsessing over how your homeschooling is smokin' my kids' private education based on one short blog post. i won't.
but i could...
but i'm too busy....
and fortunately for me i have a short attention span and do not generally freak over educational matters and should forget all about this soon enough...
so just be glad to know - from where i am - i think you're doing REAL WELL!
