Her latest obsession these days is watching me put on deodorant in the morning. Yes, I use deodorant. And she insists on having me put it on her as well. I pretend to do a few swipes and she says, "there." And struts happily outta the bathroom.
Last night, I'm making dinner and she's running around like a wild child in the yard. Then, it gets quiet. And you know when a child is silent, they are doing something. Usually that something is not good. This time, it was funny. Josh comes in.
Him: "Have you seen your daughter?" He always refers to her as "mine" when she's done something retarded.
Me: "Uh, she's outside, playing." Knowing full well, it had been quiet and she probably has done something retarded.
Him: "Look at what she's doing." She comes trailing in, with a proud look on her face and sidewalk chalk in one hand and raising the other, saying, "look. look!"
Uh huh, she was putting it on like deodorant. It was a proud moment for me yesterday. She may not be able to count passed four but she has wonderful hygiene!
Now if only it would rub off on my husband...
